Biography

Born in Texas and raised in the mountains of Colorado. Learned to ski, backpack and river raft. Entered US Air Force at age 17 and graduated from the US Air Force Academy. Directed logistics for F-16, AWACS, A-10, JSTARS and GPS, and retired after 22 years as a Lt Colonel. Ran marathons and triathlons, qualified as a glider pilot, private pilot, skydiver and advanced SCUBA diver. Lived in Germany, Saudi Arabia, England, and Bosnia for a total of 12 years.

For his second career, he began work as a prison nurse and studied psychiatry before being accepted to the Baylor College of Medicine Physician Assistant program. He has practiced in Texas for 10 years in family medicine, neurology, correctional and occupational medicine.

Lutheran, married, with one daughter and two grandchildren. Drives a Nissan Leaf EV.
